5. November, 2021Weekly Buzz

We’ve reached the end of the first quarter, and our teachers are busy this afternoon finalizing grades so report cards can be published to you by next Wednesday in time for our conference days.  Remember that next Thursday will be a noon dismissal like today and there will be no school for students next Friday in order to complete parent/teacher conferences.

Next week also marks the end of Daylight Savings Time this year, so it’s time to pack away the shorts and spring uniform for a few months so our regular uniform can take center stage.  With the cooler temperatures taking hold, this is just in time!  Students should be wearing their SBS sweatshirts, sweaters, and long-sleeve polos to school now, and keep in mind that PE classes are mostly outdoors, so the children need to dress warmly for that as well.  We appreciate that Flynn and O’Hara have been delayed in delivering many uniform orders, so please try to match up items as best as possible.  Here is a link to the student handbook if you need a refresher on the uniform expectations:  https://saintbernadetteschool.org/HANDBOOKLINK

To follow up on the latest positive Covid-19 case in the school, I am happy to let you know that the health department determined we had no additional close contacts among students or staff, which was a relief.  Still, I want to stress that we all have a role to play in keeping the school safe and open, so I ask that parents remain masked whenever they are close to children from other families while at the school.

The Thanksgiving Food Drive starts next week, and details follow below, plus we will have a Tag Day on Wednesday to wear blue to support Diabetes Awareness.  Thank you to all for your generosity and commitment to helping those in need around us!

That’s a wrap for the first week of November.  Have a blessed weekend!

In His service,

Mr. Ewanciw
