From Sediment to Rock

In your notebook, make a detailed, labeled diagram of the process that creates sedimentary rock.

Your drawing must show the following:

1. Sediment being eroded down a hill towards a body of water
2. Deposition of sediment in the body of water
3. Compaction of the sediment in the layers below the new sediment layer
4. Cementation of sediment in the lowest layer

Additional requirements:

• Use colored pencils
• Label all the processes
