OK, everyone, for the quiz on Thursday, you are going to need to convince me that the New Testament reliably passes on what Jesus actually said and did. you will need to know the 4 questions that we ask of any ancient document to test its reliability, and how to thoroughly answer each question. Obviously you need to study your notes!! For the 3rd question, you need to know the number of variants, what a variant is, the number of manuscripts, what a manuscript is, and the dates of our earliest manuscripts. For the 4th question, you need to know the 7 things we can know about Christ from non-Christian sources, and 2 names of these sources. The quiz presupposes that you know the structure of the New Testament (number and kinds of books, when they were written, etc).
