As the sun sets on this day, I know many of you are looking forward to parent/teacher conferences over the next two days. Report cards will be available to parents and guardians later tonight on the ParentPlus Portal, and teachers have copies of the MAP Growth testing family report to share with you at your conferences. Remember that we have noon dismissal on both Thursday and Friday, so remind anyone not familiar with our afternoon procedures to follow the directions of our teachers as they leave the parking lot. The Fun Run and Color Run were a hit with all the students yesterday, and great entertainment for the parents and teachers. Plus, the weather could not have been better. Please share with all your family and friends the school's appreciation for their support in helping us exceed our $25,000 goal! These funds will be directed to repairing or replacing the playground equipment by the annex. I think the extended Christmas break suggestion worked because we only had $10,000 pledged last Friday. If you're concerned about childcare coverage for that bonus January day, the school is setting up a solution for you so reach out to me in December. Our lost and found is overflowing. Conference days are your last chance to claim missing uniform items, water bottles, and other clothing your children may have left behind. Stop by the carts in the lobby tomorrow if you want to reclaim anything. Next week we will offer it "first come, first served" and then donate the remainder. With that, I wish you a wonderful evening. In His Service, Mr. Ewanciw. A Prayer for Veterans Day Lord God, Almighty Father, creator of mankind and author of peace, as we are ever mindful of the cost paid for the liberty we possess, we ask you to bless the members of our armed forces. Give them courage, hope and strength. May they ever experience your firm support, gentle love and compassionate healing. Be their power and protector, leading them from darkness to light. To you be all glory, honor and praise, now and forever. Amen. -- from USCCB |

We would like to welcome 4th-8th grade students who benefit from help with the organization and supervision of their homework assignments. Homework Club might be the place for them! Homework Club will be staffed by Saint Bernadette Teachers and staff and operate in the Library after school starting on Monday, November 6th. Sessions will run from 3:00-4:30 p.m. Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. Families can sign their child up for as many days a week per quarter as they feel would be beneficial! When they arrive at the Homework Club, students will eat a snack, take a short break, and then begin to work on homework supervised by teachers in a nondistracting environment. Our teachers will support students with organization, questions, or additional information they might need to complete their assignments. Check out registration forms for more information regarding fees and additional details. For additional information or questions please contact Virginia Cooper, vcooper@saintbernadetteschool. Social Justice with No Place for Hate As Catholics, we are called by God to reach out and build relationships of love and justice. This is taught to us by Jesus Christ, who served and identified himself with the poor, the injured, and the marginalized in our world. One way our school works to promote social justice is through the ADL’s No Place for Hate program. The goal of the No Place for Hate program is to promote an understanding of the value and dignity of all members of our school community as well as encourage work towards greater justice and respect for those in our surrounding community. In the coming months, each classroom will be signing the No Place for Hate pledge. We will also be looking for parent and student volunteers who would like to help with No Place for Hate events and the committee. If you or your child are interested in serving on our No Place for Hate Committee, please fill out the following Google Form: https://forms.gle/ To learn more about No Place for Hate® at Saint Bernadette Catholic School please contact Margaret Rodriguez at mrodriguez@ |
